Leap is a game about the knight’s tour. We ask for no registration, request no email address, and collect nothing that would identify a player.
What we store
- An anonymous device identifier. A random string the app generates itself on first launch and keeps on the device. It is tied to no account, no phone number and no advertising identifier.
- A leaderboard name — only if you typed one. The field is optional; without it the table shows “A knight with no name”.
- Games played: board, mode, score, number of moves, the sequence of squares, and the date. The sequence is what lets the server check a record — it replays the path and rejects an impossible one.
- The balance of steps back and whether a subscription is active, along with counters for ads watched and rewards granted per day.
- Platform — iOS, Android or browser.
What we do not store
No name, no email, no phone number, no address, no location, no contacts, no photos. We never see payment details at all: purchases go through the App Store, Google Play and RevenueCat, and all that reaches us is the answer “the subscription is valid until this date”.
What for
To keep your progress across devices and launches, to run a leaderboard that cannot be gamed, and to count daily ad limits. The data has no other use — we do not sell it and do not pass it to third parties for advertising.
Who else receives data
- Google AdMob — serves the ads that pay for steps back. It processes its own device identifiers under its own policy. In Europe the app asks for consent before the first ad.
- RevenueCat — verifies subscription receipts and tells us whether one is active.
- The App Store and Google Play — handle the payments themselves.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
Games and balances live for as long as you use the game. To delete everything, write to us and we will erase your identifier together with every game on it. Deleting the app removes the data from the device but not from the server: we have no way of knowing there that the app is gone.
Children
The game is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.
